Billing and plan limits

Overview of Free, Solo, and Pro plan limits in DMARCdrift: domain caps, report retention, how limits are enforced, and how to change your plan.

DMARCdrift uses a subscription model with three tiers. Plan limits apply to the number of domains you can monitor and how long report history is retained.

How limits are enforced

Domain limits: when you reach your plan's domain limit, the Add domain button is disabled. You can remove an existing domain to make room, or upgrade to add more. Upgrading takes effect immediately; you can add new domains right after the payment confirms.

Report history: older reports are purged automatically on a rolling basis. If you're on the free plan with 7-day history and you upgrade to Solo, your view window extends to 180 days going forward. Data already stored is immediately visible once you upgrade — it was retained, just outside your view window. Downgrading narrows the window but does not delete data; upgrading again restores access.

Upgrading

Upgrade from the Settings page in your account. Upgrades take effect immediately. DMARCdrift uses Stripe for payment processing; your card is charged at the start of each billing cycle.

After upgrading:

  • New domain slots are available immediately
  • Your retention window extends for new data going forward
  • Digest cadence options unlock immediately

Downgrading

Downgrading takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle. At the point of downgrade:

  • If you have more domains than the lower tier allows, you'll be asked to remove the excess before the downgrade processes
  • Report history older than the new retention limit is purged at the downgrade date
  • Features not in the lower tier stop working immediately

Canceling

Canceling is available from the Settings > Billing section. After cancellation, your subscription remains active until the end of the paid period. At that point, the account reverts to the free tier limits. If you have more than one domain, you'll be asked to remove the excess.

Canceling does not delete your account or data. Your account persists on the free tier. You can resubscribe at any time.
